Sad news to report that longtime industry member and former NMTA Chairman Steve Messmer passed away earlier this week. Steve was NMTA Board Chairman from 1994 to 1996, and a Board Member most recently from 2000 to 2002. NMTA extends its deepest condolences to Messmer family and friends.
OBITUARY
Steve was born in Sitka, Alaska on March 30, 1943 to parents Robert F. Messmer and Margaret L. (Martin) Messmer.
After graduating from Everett High School (1961) and The University of Washington (1967) Steve became very involved in boating, both business and pleasure.
Steve is survived by his wife Mary E. Messmer, sons Jeffrey D. (Christie) and Robert G. (Jolene), grandchildren Jackson, Grace, Maeson, and Kingston. Sisters Ann (Paul) Nichols, Sheryl (Rick) Knights, and Lori Messmer.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Robert Messmer, his mother Margaret Messmer, and his brother David Messmer.

SERVICE INFORMATION
A celebration of Steve’s life will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday July 9, 2010 at Cascade View Presbyterian Church, 1030 East Casino Road, Everett, WA 98203 (across from Cascade High School). In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Providence Hospice of Seattle.
