Last night will be long-remembered in NMTA lore as the night our trade association came through for a candidate that will champion our issues when elected. The weather, conversations and comradery all added to ninety minutes with Rob to both share our stories and solicit our support for marine trades and recreational boating in Washington state.
While money from our members continues to pour in, we are over $30,000. As our lobbyist Cliff Webster noted, "These sorts of things get noticed."
Rob McKenna is in a very tough race for governor. NMTA's Political Action Committee has prioritized this race as the most important for our trade association. NMTA staff, thanks to contributions from our members, presented Rob with a check for $3,600, which is the most we could donate. Stay tuned for other ways to get involved with his campaign.
