Upcoming events you will want to attend

Get out your calendars as NMTA has a bunch fun and informative events in the near future.

This Wednesday, NMTA will host the Superyacht Committee meeting.

2:00-4:00 at NMTA's office (1900 N Northlake Way, Suite 233, Seattle, WA 98103)

Invited to present are Fred Robinson of Carney Badley Spellman, who will speak for the need to take regional approach to recreational boating. Also, Jim Hebert of Hebert Research will walk the group through the economic impact study that was recently completed. The numbers in the study continue to help us get our collective heads around that boating means business in the area.

Later on Wednesday night if you find yourself in Greenwood and are looking for a parade to attend, look for NMTA's staff as we promote the Bayliner Boat we are giving away.

On Thursday, the Government Affairs Committee will convene to discuss the progress on expanding the cruising permit and sales-tax cap for boat purchases. These two issues remain priorities from last year and the committee will have a special guest for this event: Jeff Erdman of Bollman Yachts. Jeff was part of Florida's effort to cap sales-tax at $18,000. He's going to share with us the key parts to their effort as well as stumbling blocks that they overcame.

Government Affairs Committee details:

10:00 – Noon

Thursday, July 28

Location: NMTA

To cap off the week, NMTA will play a major role in Seafair's Torch Light Parade. Watch for us on TV and on the parade route as we pull the Bayliner Boat boat through downtown Seattle. Thank you, Lake Union Sea Ray for making playing the integral role in this give-away.
