Port Townsend's City Council endorses the Marine Tourism Bill

Port Townsend -- Last night at 10:15, the City Council of Port Townsend unanimously voted to support the Marine Tourism Bill, which is NMTA's top legislative priority for next session. This bill would allow entity-owned out-of-state vessels the same cruising privileges as out-of-state individually-owned boats (180 days per year).

Their support is the latest in a string of endorsements. Other supporters besides NMTA include NYBA, the WA Public Ports Association, the Chambers of Anacortes, Jefferson County and Bellingham/Whatcom County.

Fundraiser for Gael Tarleton tonight

NMTA has organized a fundrasier for Gael Tarleton, who is running for the open seat in the state Legislature. Her district (the Ballard, Lower Queen Anne, Westlake, Magnola) encompasses over one hundred of NMTA's members, which makes her office that much more important to us. Plus, she values our industry and has a proven track record to back up her promises that a working waterfront is vital to our area.

Details:

Friday, Sept 14

5:00-6:30

Seaview West Boatyard (6701 Seaview Avenue Northwest)

Come for the BBQ, stay for the fun.
